Mother Darlene Bartlett Stone, National Executive Board member for the Department of Women, COGIC
Darlene Bartlett Stone was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. Being a third generation member of the Church of God in Christ, Mother Stone has worked faithfully throughout her life and has served in various Church positions. Mother Stone has been a member of the 28th Street Church of God in Christ since 1957 where Superintendent Nathaniel Draughn serves as Pastor. Being filled with the Holy Ghost in 1973 and called into the Ministry and licensed in 1984 empowered Missionary Stone to work officially in the positions of District and Jurisdiction Purity Lady along with serving as International Purity Class Finance Chairperson. Many of the youth under her leadership have aspired to be great evangelist and preachers of the gospel.
Early in Mother Stones’ walk with God she evangelized and worked as a Revivalist with her Mother, the late District Missionary Nannie B. Bartlett. Through this power packed dynamic duo’s outreach many souls were restored, redeemed and set free.
Mother Stone received elevation in kingdom work when she was appointed to serve as Supervisor of the Department of Women, Historic 1st Jurisdiction of Indiana in 2006 where she humbly works with Bishop Mark H. Blade. She has served as Co-Chairperson for the Jurisdictional Scholarship Committee, Co-Chairperson for the Church Extension and Scholarship Banquet, Jurisdictional Purity Lady of Historic 1st Jurisdiction of Indiana. She currently serves as Chairperson of the Scholarship Committee and member of the Executive Board of Historic 1st Jurisdiction of Indiana.
Supervisor Stone serves on the National Education Committee and the National Special Convention Committee under General Supervisor Mother Willie Mae Rivers. Mother Stone was appointed in 2014 by Mother Willie Mae Rivers to serve as National Executive Board Member and Co-Chairman of the Board of Supervisors Circle #1.
Darlene Bartlett met and married the love of her life Deacon Steven R. Stone in 1970. They have one daughter Twylla R. Bartlett and one grandson Quinton F. Bartlett.
Mother Stone was employed by the United States Postal Service for 38 years which included 10 years in supervision and numerous years as Master Trainer and Job Instructor in customer services, retiring in 2009.
Mother Stone attended Indianapolis Public Schools graduating from Arsenal Technical High School. Mother Stone furthered her educational quest through C H Mason Bible College
